Copyright and takedown

Effective · version 2026-08-22

We respect creators' rights. If you believe a jigsaw in Grabby Jigsaw or on this portal uses your work without permission, tell us and we will act quickly.

How to report

Email technocrat@seek2seek.com with the subject "Copyright notice", or use the report form.

Under US law (17 U.S.C. §512(c)(3)) a notice must contain:

  1. identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
  2. identification of the infringing material and where it appears — a URL, the VRChat listing, or the jigsaw title and collection;
  3. your contact details: name, address, telephone number and email;
  4. a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law;
  5. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorised to act for the owner; and
  6. your physical or electronic signature.

Designated agent

Registration of our designated agent with the U.S. Copyright Office is in progress. Until then, send notices to the address above.

What we do

When we receive a valid notice we remove the work or disable access to it promptly — normally within 2 business days — notify the artist who uploaded it, and keep a record of the notice and of what we did.

If you are the artist

We tell you which work was reported and why. Under the Publishing Agreement you agreed to cooperate with copyright complaints (§11); revenue properly earned before the removal stays yours (§11). If you believe the notice is wrong, send a counter-notice as described below.

Counter-notices

If your work was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. Under §512(g)(3) it must contain:

  1. identification of the material that was removed and where it appeared before removal;
  2. a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification;
  3. your name, address and telephone number;
  4. a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, of any judicial district in which we may be found) and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice; and
  5. your physical or electronic signature.

We forward counter-notices to the complainant. We may restore the work after 10 to 14 business days unless the complainant tells us they have filed a court action to keep it down.

Repeat infringers and misrepresentations

Accounts with two substantiated claims are terminated. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, can make the sender liable for damages (§512(f)).

Other reports

Trademark, privacy and inappropriate-content reports go through the same channel. VRChat's own reporting tools also apply to listings in VRChat.
